“We came, we celebrated, we voted” — to paraphrase Julius Caesar. Milt’s was awash with good will, good food, and free drinks on Wednesday, January 22 as the community celebrated the restaurant’s first anniversary. Thanks to everyone who joined in the fun!

Diners also voted for the winner of a special $1000 anniversary gift, choosing among five very worthy causes: Wolcott School, Libenu, Sarah’s Circle, Center on Halsted, and Anshe Emet Synagogue. We are pleased to announce that the winner is the Libenu Foundation. The Libenu Foundation provides the gold standard of kosher residential services, vocational training, day programming, and social recreational opportunities for adults with developmental disorders. Predicated on a philosophy of inclusion, Libenu enables adults with special needs to live independently, with dignity and respect, as fully integrated members of the community. “Libenu,” from the Hebrew word meaning “Our Hearts,” reflects a heartfelt commitment to fulfilling the dream of independence and inclusion for our residents.
